Artists' chasubles

Elvis Spadoni

For years, the designer Elvis Spadoni is linked to large white surfaces, bright, from which emerge silent figures that always paints from a careful look at reality. In this chasuble a young lamb, depicted standing as a sign of Resurrection – «it is a living lamb», notes the artist – shows itself in a double symbolic power: if on the one hand it refers to the sacrifice of Christ, the immolated lamb, on the other it is a symbol of the man for whom Christ, Good shepherd, give your life. For this reason Spadoni wanted to paint the lamb on the chest of the priest, to emphasize its fundamental role as a shepherd who gives his life for the sheep
