Conservationist restoration of a roman chasuble and its stole fromMilan of the late nineteenth century in crimson silk satin.

There are cuts, wear and lifting of the metal yarns, along with many abrasions of the embroidery that make visible the yellow silk soul.

Partial disassembly of the package

Suction

Surface dust removal by indirect suction with graduated speed suction machine and protective filter nets.

Cleaning

Cleaning with sponges and cotton balls with neutral Ph solution of the background fabrics and embroidery

Consolidation

Embroidery to consolidate abrasions and wear in areas with greater degradation of the background fabric and metal yarns
